House League Select Tryouts (9U, 11U and 13U)

House League Select is a development focused program, giving players an opportunity to experience a higher level of competitive play. We plan on fielding teams in the 9U, 11U and 13U age groups for 2026.

 Players will have a chance to experience the following:
 

Extended training: Teams will have winter practice, 1-2 days a week starting in November. During the summer, teams will practice at least once a week.

Tournaments: The team will participate in 2 or more Select tournaments during the summer, depending on availability. Additionally, Select provincial qualifiers are held in early August and OBA Provincials on Labor Day weekend.
 

Exhibition Games: 10-15 games played against other HL Select teams throughout the GTA. Oakville, Burlington and Halton Hills are our primary partners.

Cost: The fee per player will range from $1400-1600 to cover uniforms, training space, equipment and tournament fees. This is in addition to the 2026 House League registration fee. A detailed budget will be provided to the families of selected players.
 

House League Registration: All Select players must also be registered for and play on a 2026 House League team. In addition to their Select practices, players are expected to practice and play with their regular house league team.

Note: In the interest of fairness, Select players will be distributed evenly across all available house league teams. We cannot guarantee player roster requests for Select players.

 Tryouts
 

Tryouts will be held in on the following dates:

  • 9U (born in 2017, 2018 and 2019) - October 23rd, 6pm-8pm - Craig Kielburger Dome
  •  11U (born in 2015 and 2016) - October 19th and 26th, 10am-Noon - St Francis Xavier Dome  
  • 13U (born in 2013 and 2014) - October 19th and 26th, 3pm-5pm - Craig Kielburger Dome

The tryouts will be facilitated by a number of House League Committee members as well as coaches from our Rep program. Players will be evaluated on their skills in hitting, fielding, pitching and catching.

 All players born between 2013 and 2019 are welcome to tryout but must register for the tryouts using Teamlinkt. Registration will be open until October 18th. There is a nominal fee of $20 to register.

 Coaches: All coach selections will be made from the pool of available parent volunteers after the team has been chosen. Coaches will need to complete NCCP certification including a number of online and in-person clinics.
