The Milton Minor Baseball Association (MMBA) was established in the late 1950’s by Milton Sports Hall of Fame Inductee, Dave Brush, to service a small farming community in the Halton Hills area. The local teams ran under the moniker of the Milton Red Sox.
As the town of Milton continued to grow, so too did the MMBA, developing teams to encompass all ages and various skill levels including House League, Select, and Rep.
In 2011 the Milton Minor Baseball Association made the decision to change the Rep and Select team names from the Milton Red Sox to the Milton Mets. The move was made to distinguish themselves from a number of other Southern Ontario teams using the same name. This name change coincided with MMBA’s imminent reclassification to A-Class ball when the town reached a population high of 25,000 households.
